What are we doing?
This year will be the 21st anniversary of Eddie passing. As always we want to raise as much money for Salisbury Hospice in his name as possible.
The changes we trialed last year were a great success and we had lots of positive feedback, the committee have agreed we will be operating the same way again this year, asking you to make your donation prior to the this years event.
We are a community that has grown from knowing Eddie, who loved music and DJing, and who come together to share a fun time and space in a field.
Over the years we have raised over £5000 and we look forward to many more years of donations. When Eddie was in the hospice there was a lack of easy access to cold water and he wanted to raise money, to pay for an individual fridge in the rooms. This was the deciding factor for Linda and the boys to do an event to raise money.
Edfest has always been only for close friends of the Cantillon family. Following the success of last year we will be opening up to special friends of our friends. If you are invited, then it’s because someone believes that you will appreciate the space that is ‘Edfest’.
If you were invited last year by a special friend, this year you will be able to invite a special friend or family of your own.
If they are going to camp for the weekend they will need to redeem an invite. Click here for more details.
What will be different this year?
To help maximise the donation to Salisbury Hospice we are trialing asking for visitors not camping to make a donation of £10. If you invite someone that is not going to camp please make sure they are aware and have a donation ready to go.
We have a young person on the committee now and they are driving the activities for our younger visitors. There will be more to keep them entertained.
Suggestion are very welcome, please reach out to a committee member to submit them.
How can I help?
The money raised from camping will pay for the field, toilets, generator, and sound system. By covering the costs of these items upfront we not only ensure the return of the event next year!
Saturdays at Edfest
Once again, this year we will be holding the afternoon tea event where we hope to raise money for the hospice with a few rounds of Bingo, the raffle and of course the tea party.
For those just coming for the Saturday please remember to bring a donation for the tea party, this is a great opportunity to show off your baking skills!!
Do have a look at the gallery page for photos of our previous tea parties, and if you have any unwanted Christmas gifts please donate to the raffle / tombola.
Linda will provide the tea and coffee, you just need to bring something to sit on, those dancing shoes for the disco and remember a full pocket of change!
As the sun sets, and as long as the weather allows, we will light a communal fire and those wanting to prepare more food can use the BBQ.
The farmer has asked all children remain within the field unless accompanied by an adult. There are many dangers on a working farm including hay-bales and slurry pits. Please be vigilant with your children.
To ensure the toilet lasts the duration Toby has built a urinal this year and we have also erected a solar shower hopefully the sun will be out to heat the water!!
There will be lots of outside activities for the children, although in the past just having the swing, their bikes and the freedom of the field is enough.
Leave no trace!
The field we use is used by cows so its very important we leave no trace if you see any rubbish please pick it up, keeping rubbish to a minimum is key as the community is responsible to taking it off site. Please take your rubbish home with you.
It does get very dark and whilst we try to provide some lighting please bring a torch to ensure you and your family are safe.
